Beauty Blogger Award

Beauty Blogger Awardbeauty-blogger-award-1

I got awesome comments in my inbox from Olivia and Leanne, both of whom have graciously nominated me for a Beauty Blogger Award! This is my first nomination since starting my blog this month, so I’m excited to answer the questions! Here goes:

How many products do you use in your skincare routine?
In total, I use around 4 to 5 products, depending on the time of the day:

Day (4 products)
– Kanebo Facial Cleanser
– MUJI Toner
– Ceramide Serum
– Perricone Facial Cream

Night (5 Products)
– Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil
– Kanebo Facial Cleanser
– MUJI Toner
– Ceramide Serum
– Avocado Facial Oil

What is the worst product you have ever used?

It’s a toss up between L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation + Pressed Powder series and the Covergirl Pressed Powder. Neither products did anything for my skin and they were all returned pretty quickly. UGH.

Do you have a makeup or fashion icon?

Not really…no.

What’s your favourite beauty tip?

Mixing a drop of my favorite facial serum into my foundation just before I put it on, so I can either add an extra hydration boost or make that summer foundation last into the fall and winter months just before I replenish my foundation stock 🙂

What’s the top thing on your bucket list?

I would like to travel to all the places that I have on my list of places to go before I die <3

What’s the most expensive beauty or skincare product you have ever bought?

Interestingly enough, I would have to say my YSL Touche Eclat and mini mascara combo in terms of the brand being expensive itself; however, I did get it at a discount during one of my makeup hauls at the Las Vegas outlets 😀

What’s your favourite hobby to do in your spare time?

I actually blog on my site in my spare time 🙂 I find that it’s very therapeutic when I’m on my site sharing my reviews on new or old products that I’ve tried and tested for a period of time, and it’s a definite change of pace than when I’m at work.

Can you speak any other languages?

I can speak Cantonese and Mandarin as my second languages 🙂

What’s your favourite skincare or makeup brand?

OOH. This is a tough one. For skincare, I would say Bobbi Brown’s line is my favorite…at this moment LOL. It smells amazing but it also makes my skin oh so happy 🙂

For makeup, it depends on which part of the face the products are for. I tend to try new products as long as it a) doesn’t contain (artificial) fragrance and b) break me the heck out.

Do you have any ingredients that you specifically try to look out for or avoid?

I would definitely say fragrance. It doesn’t matter how pretty the packaging is or raved by beauty bloggers and friends alike; if it’s got fragrance as an ingredient fairly far up on the ingredients list, I will most likely not buy it because I will break out into angry itchy patches.
