Travel Beauty Part 1
After my trip to Singapore, I felt the need to talk about a pre- and post-flight beauty routine 🙂 Even though it was a short haul, red-eye flight from Hong Kong to Singapore, my skin begged to differ in terms of the TLC it needed so I did the following just before I got on my flight:
1) Micro scrub for my face; nothing deep cleansing of the sort. Just a quick buffing of what I had on my skin at this point since I’d already done my weekly deep cleansing 2 to 3 days ago.
2) Layer on a good cream eye mask – for today, I used the Natura Bisse Eye Mask – and for the rest of my face, the Origins Overnight Mask for 15 to 20 minutes.
3) Pat on a good layer of the Bobbi Brown eye cream, a facial serum and face cream. For someone with a tendency to transform into a dry paper bag midway through a flight, I have no qualms in layering on good, deep hydration, fully knowing that most if not all of it will be sucked dry. For today, I chose to use the last of my Paul and Joe Deep Hydration Serum, Vitacreme B12 (review to follow later :)) and a quarter-sized dollop of the good ol’ Nivea cream (white tub). I looked shiny afterwards but post-flight, my skin was still well moisturised 🙂
4) Apply a light layer of Vaseline to your lips to avoid getting parched, or even worse, cracked lips mid-flight. I personally reapply lip balm periodically throughout the flight, especially after eating or drinking or just plain old wanting to keep them moisturised 🙂
