Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer
Available: Online or your local Perricone counter 🙂
Back in May, I got an order of this moisturizer upon the referrals online and the fact that I was done with my tub of Nivea Soft. I’ve used this moisturizer diligently from then till now, for both my day- and night-time skin care routine.
On the website, the moisturizer’s main benefits are:
- Helps decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Increases radiance and hydrates the skin.
- Restores the appearance of youth and beauty.
- Provides antioxidant protection.
- Has a delicate rose scent.

Upon application, there was a slight herbally rose scent that was surprisingly soothing as I massaged the moisturizer onto my face and neck, but it disappeared soon after I was massaged into my skin. I was slightly surprised as I’m normally not a fan of rose scents – or fragrance in my skincare to begin with – but my skin did not break out in hives or blemishes, nor did my nose just turn up when it caught a whiff of it so this was definitely an anomaly 🙂 For those of you who are just as sensitive if not more to herbally fragrance and such, I strongly recommend popping over to a Perricone counter to test it out before buying it 🙂
The dense gel-like texture is great for the summer time for us combination-skin girls as it provides and seals in just enough hydration and moisturization (for me when I layered a light summer serum) without being greasy or greasing up near the afternoon. I’m normally not a fan of gel moisturizers as it’s simply not hydrating enough for my combination-dry skin and it just feels like a layer of water that evaporates from my skin as soon as I’m done applying, but I think I would make an exception for this product 🙂
However, once the weather starts getting drier in Hong Kong or when I go back home to Vancouver – essentially any other location with a relatively lower humidity – I feel that this moisturizer will need to be layered with the right moisturizing serum, otherwise it might not be as moisturizing as what a cream would feel like during the winter months. For my skin type, I would use this moisturizer for most of the seasons except for winter and if/when my skin conditions didn’t demand otherwise.
All in all, I would repurchase this moisturizer as a trusty, all-round, no-fuss kind of moisturizer that just does what it’s supposed to do: seal in moisture. However, if you’re looking for a moisturizer with more added effects (i.e. anti-aging), I would try out Perricone’s specifically dedicated skin care lines where the serums would do more of the heavy lifting and would deliver more effective results; as I’m in my late twenties, I feel that this moisturizer is dependable in balancing out skin care treatments when mixing various treatment products in my skin care routine without going overboard. 🙂
