I now believe in the hype.

Housed in a frosted glass bottle, I’m peeved at the fact that this iconic foundation is still without a pump; as such, I wouldn’t necessarily feel that this is travel friendly. However, upon a quick consultation with the Google gods, I found that many beautiful men and women around the world have found a perfectly viable solution for it: the MAC Foundation Pump; in fact, Narrsworld over here explains it perfectly well and the pump itself can be purchased at Nordstrom, Amazon  and possibly in a MAC store near you!

Packaging aside, the formula is absolutely amazing. Given the long-lasting and long-wearing nature of this foundation, I found that in order to get the best results from this foundation, one needs to:

  1. Moisturize the face well.
  2. Choose the right primer to set the base (for my case, I used my Smashbox one all over and the Benefit Poreprofessional on my t-zone)
  3. Work on one part of the face at a time with the foundation; the whole dot-it-all-over-your-face method doesn’t quite work as well as I found that the foundation settled real quick before I even got to that part of the face; once this foundation settles, it really doesn’t budge — not even a smidge.

To attest to its long-wearing claims, I’ve worn this foundation through my 8-12 hour workdays; I’ve walked through the rain; I’ve been in the sweltering heat with this on and even though there were beads of sweat at the tip of my nose and around my hairline, the makeup itself didn’t melt off or do that gross white-coloured sweatdrop performance on my face 😛 I’m looking forward to popping this on during cold and low-humidity days/climates to see if this will fare well for my combination-dry skin 🙂 I’m more inclined to think that it’s probably nothing that a hydrating/moisturizing primer and skincare routine can’t fix ❤️

All in all, I can safely say that I am more than excited to add this foundation to my arsenal of HG face products; however, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, you really can’t go wrong with the Revlon Colorstay ❤️
