Housed in a cute squeeze tube with a twist-off cap, this is a travel friendly, everyday makeup bag happy, kind of concealer to take along with you. Packaging aside, the formula of this concealer is absolutely amazing. Given the long-lasting and long-wearing claims of this concealer, I found that in order to get the best results from this product, one needs to:

  1. Moisturize the face well. I noticed that flaky scars will look…pretty flaky with this concealer on so make sure that area is prepped!
  2. Choose the right primer to set the base (for my case, I used my Smashbox one all over and the Benefit Poreprofessional on my t-zone) and then the foundation (for the sake of really trying this concealer out, I chose to use it with my Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Revlon Colorstay, Diorskin Star and the Diorsnow BB Cream just to give it a relatively fair testing ground in terms of different formulations and brands and lasting powers)
  3. Dot this onto the blemish/acne scar, and once blended in, it needs to sort of…sit on the face a little bit before you dust on loose powder; much like the Double Wear foundation, once this concealer settles, it really doesn’t budge, not even a smidge. Usually when I’m done putting this concealer on, I work on my eye makeup or something before dusting on the loose powder; I found that if you dust the loose powder on before you give this concealer just that little bit of time to dry, you end up smearing it up, and THAT bit dries up and does not budge.

I also found that given the liquid nature of this concealer, you can easily build it up to the coverage that you need, but unless it’s a particular dark(er) patch that you’re trying to cover up, one thin layer is more than enough. If you need something super heavy duty, I’d suggest you give the Dermacol one a shot instead.

To attest to its long-wearing claims, I’ve worn this foundation through my 8-12 hour workdays; I’ve walked through the rain; I’ve been in the sweltering heat with this on and even though there were beads of sweat at the tip of my nose and around my hairline, the makeup itself didn’t melt off or do that gross white-coloured sweatdrop performance on my face 😛 In particular, the patches where I’d applied the concealer didn’t melt or look patchy either. 😀 I’m looking forward to popping this on during cold and low-humidity days/climates to see if this will fare well for my combination-dry skin 🙂 I’m more inclined to think that it’s probably nothing that a hydrating/moisturizing primer and skincare routine can’t fix <3

All in all, I can safely say that I am more than excited to add this concealer to my arsenal of HG face products; however, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly or heavier duty option, you really should give Dermacol or the Benefit Playstick a quick look <3
