YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation
SPF: 20 PA+++
As a result of listening to a girlfriend’s praises about the YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation, I also picked up this serum foundation to give it a go for my dry-ass sensitive skin 🙂 Seeing as I had some success with YSL’s Touche Éclat concealer, I had high hopes for this foundation.
Lord almighty, this was amazing and I was not disappointed.
Housed in a glass bottle with a pump and a cap, the packaging itself isn’t much to write home aside from the fact that it’s a little too heavy for it to be travel-friendly. However, if you’re someone who has dry, sensitive and flaky skin like me, you’ll probably look past this slight flaw in the packaging 🙂
Onto the product itself, the foundation is hydrating and easily smoothed on and buffed onto the skin for a flawless, dewy look. If you don’t have any major flaws to conceal, you can most definitely just dust on a little loose powder and go about your day; I’d say that this is a solidly medium-coverage foundation and it didn’t accentuate any of my fine lines or that flakiness around my nose. With this in mind, I would definitely recommend this foundation for the cooler months and those who have seasonally/perpetually dry skin as this foundation keeps the skin hydrated with its award-winning YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum without looking greasy or feeling heavy 🙂 Quick note here: the SPF included in this foundation is really..negligible and I would highly suggest layering a proper sunscreen underneath with a good primer that works for your skin prior to applying this foundation for the ultimate skin protection and preparation <3
In addition, there is a slight floral scent that dissipates quickly upon application; it didn’t upset my skin or start up any allergic reactions, but for those of you out there who are sensitive to fragrances as well, you might want to bear this in mind. Finally, the foundation had pretty good lasting power; I had the foundation on from 5AM to 8-9PM and although I had to blot away some shine in the t-zone around 2PM, I still looked as fresh as I did in the morning by the time I was home. <3
All in all, I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t discover this foundation sooner! This worked so well with my YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation, as well as other cushion foundations in my beauty cabinet <3 This will most definitely be on my repurchase list and if I’m being completely honest here…I’ve got my eye on the YSL Touche Éclat Foundation now for the summer 🙂
