Another awesome find from Groupon! I spotted this while perusing through the site and I thought it’d be a great time to try out a luxury product at a discount as I’d just finished up with my old facial scrub and was in the market for something new 🙂

As I have sensitive, combination-dry skin, facial scrubs that are too scrubby or gritty tends to leave my poor skin dry, stretched and parched; however, since I wear makeup every day, it’s important to keep a regular routine for thoroughly cleaning my skin. With this product, I didn’t feel that it was a scrub, but rather an exfoliating gel and according to the Chanel website it “delivers powerful exfoliating action for a refined, revitalized, luminous complexion”. In terms of the packaging, it’s comes in a light pink squeeze tube with the company’s iconic shiny black cover on the bottom of the screw-on lid which you unscrew to squeeze the gel out; as this is (normally) relatively expensive, I appreciate the fact that it’s in a squeeze tube so you don’t waste any product.

The consistency of the gel is very creamy; it is light light pink with darker pink exfoliating beads suspended in the gel. I like how the beads are very gentle on my sensitive and dry skin; having used this product for a little while, I didn’t experience any irritation or dryness afterwards, even during that period of time when my skin was having a flaky, peeling period from the Resilience Lift mishap. Upon application, I just lightly massaged it on my face in circular motions, then rinsed it off and followed up with a hydrating mask — in my case, I used both the Origins Overnight Mask as well as the Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-aging Mask Boost on separate occasions.

In terms of the effect, before I put on hydrating mask, I felt that my skin was very soft and supple even after the exfoliating; this is very different from me using a more scrubby face scrub where my skin would feel a tad tighter, particularly after I’d patted my face dry and was in the process of getting my hydrating mask ready — I almost couldn’t wait to slather it one because my face was like “GIMME IT NOW!”.

Although I wouldn’t say that this is a must-have for one’s skincare as there are definitely other exfoliating gels with suspended beads that can do the job, or if your skin requires a little bit more heavy duty scrubbing, then this might not be strong enough for your needs; I prefer to keep this in my routine as it made my skin happy and I’m not ready to rock that boat just yet <3
